Minutes: This External Review is part of the process for the renewal of the school district's five-year accreditation by an international accreditation agency. The School District of Clay County has held AdvancED's most prestigious accredited status since becoming a fully accredited school district in 2010. The review officially began on March 2, 2015, with Overviews from the Superintendent and key staff members of where the district has been, where we are now, what we are doing to improve, and where we want to be. The review team then spent three extensive days in multiple schools conducting hundreds of interviews with students, teachers, parents staff and community members.
The Exit Report was very positive with the AdvancED Team recommending full renewal of the accreditation distinction. The team recognized the school district's greatest areas of strength, or most powerful practices, as being instructional design and business and community partnerships. Two areas of opportunity for improvement included a continued focus on expanding student access to technology and a need to establish a more consistent grading system across schools and programs. Overall, the team concluded their report by saying how impressed they were with the great teaching and learning they heard and saw in the School District of Clay County.
